My parents say that the day I came home from the hospital I was circling my little feet simultaneously as I bounced happily in my car seat. As excited first-time parents they made mental notes and said aloud "maybe some day she will be a dancer."
That baby turned into a two year old who couldn't stop moving when music came on and had Raffi and Kids Songs on full-time. Thanks to my Mom, my dance journey started early - I didn't lose out on any time exploring my passion and enriching my life with the joy of dance.
I didn't take to dance class the first day I went, but soon became eager to attend each week and before you knew it there were competitions, recitals, special performances - my mom has never missed one. She has been at every rehearsal and every show cheering me on as her shining star. Does the star notion sound familiar??
I quickly made my dance mark throughout childhood and young adulthood by performing, choreographing, teaching and advocating for the arts! My mom has always been there whether to give a hug, sew on a sequin or french braid my hair. My family has encouraged me all the way, and here I am now following my heart and pursuing my dreams, opening Starpath Dance Academy.
My mom is my best friend and she is someone I can always rely on for anything and everything through thick and thin. I am so very lucky to have such a special relationship with her. Starpath Dance Academy is very lucky to have her as well! She will be helping answer your questions and guide you in the right direction - I'm certain no one could do it better.
I am so overjoyed to be a role model and mentor female figure for the students that attend Starpath Dance Academy, and am eager to offer the same encouragement that I was always fortunate enough to receive. The opportunity to touch children's lives and be there for them is one of the things I am most looking forward to at Starpath Dance Academy.
To all the moms out there, especially those of our future dancers, thank you! Have a wonderful Mother's Day! Know that all you do is incredibly valued and appreciated. None of us would be who we are today without our moms; I know I wouldn't be.
